Because these ARE THE gods of Cool! DAMN IT ALL!

Ken Wilber Won't You Blog With Us

The Optimus Megaphone thread -- Ken Wilber Will Yield to Blogging -- is slowly becoming a cult infected with deadly Wiberitis. In fact, it now has an eerie soundtrack complete with chanting in Latin, augmented piano tunes with a techno feel, and androgynous vocals. Check it out.

K DUB WON'T YOU BLOG?
(click to play song)

This song was composed, arranged, and performed by a weird guy with a looong(non)greasy hair named Brondu.

It sticks to your head like a bubble gum. Resistance is partial. You've all been warned. May the Flying Spaghetti Monster have mercy on our souls.

Is There Such a Thing as Blogging Flow?

dandelion deathblows (redux)
Originally uploaded by coolmel.

During the past few weeks I noticed something strange--something really strange happened to my blogging. What was once a passionate hobby has turned into an obsession--whether healthy, or otherwise, remains to be seen. I feel like I’ve stepped into the next level--metaphorically speaking of course, because I don’t know of any blogging developmental line. But if there’s such a thing, then yeah, I feel like I’m onto something. How can I say this, you ask? Let me describe some symptoms.

For the past few days all I can think of is blogging. I skipped lunch. I skipped dinner. I skipped the gym. I only averaged 4-6 hours of sleep. I had to take some sleeping pills to force myself to sleep. I wore my favorite jeans four consecutive times without washing. I held off on peeing. I’ve even compromised my nine-to-five without worry about getting dooced. We’ll, I’m still a bit worried, yet I’m more than willing to accept the consequences. I’m not going to whine. But if I do get dooced at least you know why.

I’ve read about FLOW before, yet I never had a first-hand experience. But whatever it is I’m going through right now, I think it’s close. Everything seem bloggable. That’s not a tongue-in-cheek mystical thing. It’s a literal feeling. The writing, hyperlinking, tagging, searching, reading, networking, commenting, they all just keep on flowing. I can blog in short or long-form and it won’t make any much difference. I can easily make associations to things from my past experiences, from the news, from photo-sharing sites, from other blogs, from books, from newspapers, from real life, without having any problems putting them together--almost effortless. I can easily recall stuff I read and blogged about years ago. I could connect the dots more clearly and understand their meaning. Some of the stuff I blogged might seem gibberish to the casual readers, but they all make sense to me. If I imagine what my brain looks like at the time of this writing, I can see neurons firing and going non-stop hyperlinking. And it doesn’t stop there.

I’ve made connections to people, in cyberspace, and meatspace--people whom I never knew before yet I felt a sense of kinship right away. My personal relationship in meatspace is also flowing--and yes, bloggable too. Signs are everywhere. My typing got faster. My blogging went exponential--on two blogs, not just one. I think my writing got better. Some people even find them funny. Sometimes I even think I'm funny. Some people actually care.

I’ve gotten bolderI think my ego’s getting bigger Just this morning something inside (or beyond) made me blog this statement: blogging is my spiritual practice. I had no worries on what others may think about this crazy affirmation. It just felt right. I’m sticking to my guns on this. I’m going to hyperlink to this entry. You’ll see. But most importantly, I’ve learned to trust serendipity more than hot coffee.

To be honest, I’m not sure whether this thing is just a passing state, or a more permanent trait. It’s not transcendence. It’s not indifference. It’s not bliss. It's not awakening. Duality is still ever-present. That’s why I can still write this. All I can say is, if this is not flowing, then I don’t know what the f*ck it is.

Zaadz Pod: Kosmic Blogging 101

Originally uploaded by coolmel.

Zaadz Pods are now deployed. As a Zaadz Ambassador I was given an opportunity to create one of the first few pods. So I created a pod that I am very passionate about. I have some ideas, but I have no clue what this pod will eventually accomplish. That what makes it more fun. All I know is we’ll build a pod with legs, balls, and fluffy things... then serendipity will give it wings.

What is Kosmic Blogging 101 anyway?

Stupid Writing Prompts

My creation; "Write"
Originally uploaded by mscaprikell.

It's no secret that I've been trolling up and down The Dilbert Blog. In fact, I've used Scott's witty entries as creative writing prompts. But just when I thought that Scott had ran out of stupid ideas, he drops a bombshell like this:

If you lived on a planet with almost no gravity, would you be able to fly just by peeing?

I took the stupid challenge but I guess my comment wasn't witty (or stupid) enough to get posted. So I'll post it here:

it'll be hard to pee with minimum gravity. you'll more likely wet yourself before gaining altitude. i would suggest farting but that's more disgusting. the EPA will give you hell. so i'd suggest just thinking happy thoughts rather than using your tinker bells.

There. I'm now officially a stupid writing prompt troll.

Is that a BCB on your DIK?

A while ago I rip-mix-burned Da Vinci and ILP into DIK. But there's one essential ingredient that I think deserves to be mentioned. Your DIK has to have compassion. Not the lovey-duvey idiot compassion, but compassion with balls. Big Compassionate Balls. So there. BCB on your DIK is a good thing.

Lotsa balls! [via]

Fluffy Motivator: Blogging Station From Hell

Blogging Station (Reloaded) (redux)

Like I said, blogging is fast becoming a bigger megaphone for writers / authors.

Blooks are the world's fastest-growing new kind of book and an exciting new stage in the life cycle of content, if not a whole new category of content.

The Lulu Blooker Prize is sponsored by Lulu, the world's fastest-growing provider of print-on-demand books, including an increasing number of blooks. However, the judges are independent of Lulu and no favor will be shown to blooks published on Lulu.
So to all the reluctant bloggers out there... Resistance is partial.

Fluffy Motivator: Follow My Bliss

Originally uploaded by coolmel.

It took a Dilbert comic strip to make me reflect on what I really wanted in my life at this moment in time. So I asked myself this question for the nth time.

So, WTF is my ideal job?

The answer was obvious. To keep blogging with passion and compassion... and pay my bills with it.

There. I can stop daydreaming now.

It just so happened that I was playing around with fd's Flickr Toys and enjoying the Motivator. Light bulb flashes! Hence, the Flickr Fluffy Motivator was born -- ripping, mixing, and burning Flickr photos with compassion... and style.

Serendipity and DIK really bring out some cool stuff.

p.s. if you're a fluffy Flickr Zaadzster, i also started a Flickr Zaadzters Group. it's open to everyone.
